About God
There is one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God has revealed Himself to us through the creation (Rom. 1:18-20), the Scriptures (Heb. 1:1), and through Jesus, the Christ (Heb. 1:1-2).
About Scripture
We believe the Bible (Old and New Testaments) is the only inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God (inerrant in the original writings) that has been delivered and preserved by God. As it says in 2Tim.3:16 “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.”
About Salvation
We believe that people find themselves cut off from God because of the sins we all have all committed (Rom. 5:12). However, God has made a way punish our sins and set us free from punishment, while maintaining his perfect justice, by placing the punishment for our sins on one the sinless man, Jesus (Heb. 9:1ff). Thus, if we can commit ourselves to a relationship with God, He will apply that forgiveness of sin bought by the shed blood of Jesus to us and our sins. To achieve this the Scripture teaches we must believe and accept that Jesus is the Son of God, confess and repent of our sins and then allow ourselves to be immersed in the waters of baptism, signifying their death to the old way of life, burial, and resurrection into new life with Christ Jesus as their Lord (Rom. 6:1-5; Col. 2:12).
The Scripture teaches that if we do this–God not only forgives our past and future sins but also gives us the gift of His indwelling Holy Spirit (Acts 2:38) to help us cultivate and develop godly insights, attitudes, and abilities to resist sin.
